We are seeking a self-motivated Research Associate to join Ruedi Aebersold´s plasma proteomics research group at ISB in Seattle, WA. Our current areas of interest include biomarker discovery and validation in cells, tissues and blood, complex mixture fractionation & enrichment, with a particular interest in the study of various types of cancer and diabetes. We seek an individual with two or more years of experience relating to general molecular or cell biology and/or proteomics. The ideal candidate would be familiar with a variety of experimental techniques that might include, for example, liquid chromatography mass spectrometry, mammalian cell culture, protein isolation and analysis (e.g. gel electrophoresis, immunoblotting, etc.). The successful candidate should also be well organized, detail-oriented and computer literate, have good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work both independently and within a team. A BS or MS degree in chemistry, biological sciences, biotechnology or other related field is required.
