Three Collaborative Projects Announced for ISB’s 2022 Innovator Award Program

ISB kicked off the sixth year of our successful Innovator Award Program by announcing three collaborative projects. This internal program is designed to support novel research ideas that cut across disciplines and research groups. Washington Research Foundation once again generously pledged $100,000 to fund the awards.

Three Collaborative Projects Announced for ISB’s 2021 Innovator Award Program

ISB has kicked off the fifth year of its Innovator Award Program by announcing three collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects. The program was created in 2017 to support early-career scientists working on high-risk, high-reward innovations, and champions interdisciplinary collaboration for non-faculty ISB researchers.

Dr. Wei Wei Awarded CARE Grant

The Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment (CARE) is a public-private partnership that supports cancer research in Washington state. CARE announced ISB Assistant Professor Dr. Wei Wei as a CARE Fund Distinguished Researcher and awarded him $500,000.

Spotlight: Claudia Ludwig

Congratulations to Claudia Ludwig, Director, Systems Education Experiences (SEE), on being named the winner of the 2017 AWIS Award for Excellence in Science Outreach from the Seattle Chapter of Association for Women in Science (AWIS). Claudia, a former high school biology and chemistry teacher, is the Director of Systems Education Experiences at ISB, a program that she has been instrumental in building since she joined ISB in 2004.
